After detecting growing concern in the sector about the damage caused by thrips, the Genoma Laboratorio team has quickly developed a PCR and sequencing analysis methodology to reliably diagnose the thrips species present in any crop.
In recent weeks, we have been able to carry out repeated analyses of these thrips from individuals present in samples of pomegranate, table grapes, plums and citrus fruits, all with thrips damage, collected in different areas of the Region of Murcia (especially in the Guadalentín Valley), confirming in all cases that it is the species Scirtotrips dorsalis.
We offer all farmers and technicians who wish to use it a completely reliable PCR technique to determine the thrips species present in their crops, allowing them to take appropriate action based on the diagnosed species and the type of crop.
Likewise, we remind you that Genoma Laboratorio has recently been accredited by ENAC for ISO 17025 in phytopathological testing and designated as an official plant health control laboratory by the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, which adds further guarantees and reliability to our analysis services.
