We attended the 3rd edition of Microbiome 2023, which took place at the Víctor Villegas Auditorium in Murcia, from June 7 to 9.
More than 40 presentations were presented at Microbiome 2023, some developed by researchers from official centers and others derived from finalist research projects conducted by leading companies in the sector.
During the workshops, it was possible to see the enormous progress being made in the sector regarding the use and application of microorganisms for different purposes in modern agriculture.
Many questions arise regarding these uses: the actual effectiveness of the microorganisms for the intended purposes, the quality and reliability of the microbial compounds in the formulations, the interactions that can occur in the soil after the application of these products, etc.
Systematic repetition of applications based on criteria established by the manufacturers can offer interesting results, but it is also necessary to know what may happen in the future to soils subjected to this type of application.
